Used as the C string on my tenor ukuleles

I prefer normal tension strings on my tenor ukuleles for my playing style. The 540R series was recommended to me 30 years ago by the luthier of one of my tenor ukuleles, and I now use them on my other tenor, too.

Better Tone From 3rd String

Regular G strings are usually much thicker than the adjacent strings. The tone of that string is sometimes described as "tubby". This carbon string sounds and feels better than the standard nylon G (3rd) string.

This is a great string. I’ve tried countless others and this is by far the best sounding one yet. I’m now going to use it exclusively. .

Q: Hello,
The gauge (in.) of the G in the Savarez KF543R is 0.0331–- what is the gauge (in.) of the carbon G string in the HGN-3T set by D'Addario? Have you had reports of premature breakage (normal/regular tension) with either of these strings? Thanks for taking the time to respond.

A: Hello Robert,
The G(3rd) in HGN-3T is also .0331 in thickness.
No, we have not seen many reports of premature breaking with either of these strings but if you had a problem it could be due to a defective string.
