D string is way too flabby

I was curious to find out what a Baritone set of strings would sound like. This set is fine except that when tuned properly the D string (the string that would normally be the G string) is too loose and flabby. In fact the string is not any thicker in gauge than the next string over (the string that is the F# string and would normally be B string). I bought 3 sets of these and to make sure there was no mistake, I opened a second set and saw that this set was designed the same way. Its not designed right. The D string should be thicker gauge and tighter to match the tightness of the other strings. The tone produced from the flabby string is very poor.

RC Strings Baritone Nylon Strings

I am in love with these strings. They sound incredible and the tension is perfect for low tuned classical guitars (I have a standard classical guitar which I tune down a 5th). I have been searching for the right strings for a while now and I’ll definitely be sticking with these. I was also very satisfied with how quickly they arrived. Highly recommended.

Q: Do you have an idea when these will be back in stock? I use them for my baja guitar (long scale- bigger body) for the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra. We have 5 bajas in the orchestra.

Q: Do you guys offer these baritone strings in a high tension version? I bought these thinking they were medium high, but received normal tension strings

Q: Would these be compatible with a Martin 000C Nylon with a 26.44 scale length?

A: Hello Dexter,
No, this baritone set does not seem to be what your guitar requires. I would advise checking with Martin to be 100% sure but it appears that Martin recommends using regular classical strings like their M165 or M265 sets found here-

Q: Hey, I didn't understand - are those intended to use with a standard scale classical guitar or with bigger scale baritone guitar?

Plus, what is the tuning? In the picture it says "B tuning" but on product page it shows regular tuning.

We were in contact with RC Strings and they informed us that these strings were designed specifically for the "Raimundo Clave de FA Baritone Guitar". Here is some of the information they gave us:
"Raimundo Guitars at Guitar From Spain, one of the best guitar makers in Spain have recently introduced a new model of guitar in its catalog. Its not another classical, flamenco or acoustic guitar. Its a completely new instrument. The Classical Baritone Guitar. The guitar Raimundo Clave de FA is a new and unique instrument that has been created to complete the instrumental family of guitars.

Considering the standard guitar as a Tenor instrument opposed to the requinto or Soprano Guitar, this new instrument comes to cover the low tessitura existing between the Bass Guitar and the standard or Tenor guitar, considering its tonal range, its right to call it Baritone guitar.

The tuning on this new instrument is B-E-A-D-F#-B. For which it has a set of strings specially developed for this instrument.

"The baritone guitar Raimundo Clave de FAis a guitar with a longer scale length, larger body, and heavier internal bracing, so it can be tuned to a lower pitch. This special guitar is a must to have for guitar collector and for the experimental musician.""

Note- this instrument has a scale length of 660mm.
