these strings really brought my bandmates acoustic bass to life. I restrung it for him and when finished, I was so blown away by the sound the instrument was making. These strings do not sound thuddy at all, but rather you get a very strong and warm fundamental tone. They also have a great volume too, and I was able to hear my bandmate at rehearsal even though he wasn't plugged in and I wasn't trying to play very quietly. The roller wound strings also reduced some finger noise and some twang from the attack. These strings feel killer and produce a really good tone on acoustic bass guitars. Just an observation, the peg end of the string is finished in such a way its got a corkscrew kind of look to it with a rough spiral of brass around the core. This winding made tuning up a breeze, the string really bit into itself and hasn't budged at all since I first wound it.
